Who We Are
In 1987, a group of concerned citizens from the Churches and Synagogues in Rye and Harrison came together to form a partnership ~ a partnership to aid the homeless and hungry in Westchester County. For over 25 years, this partnership has helped tens of thousands of Westchester residents, by distributing school supplies, food, toiletries, and underwear to our neighbors.
Our most important partners are you, our loyal supporters. Your generous response to our solicitations and enthusiastic help filling school backpacks are the reasons for Helping Hands' success and longevity. Simply put, Helping Hands is neighbors helping neighbors.
What We Do
Helping Hands purchases and donates clothing, hygiene items, and school supplies to organizations for distribution to those in need.
For over 32 years, Helping Hands has partnered with dozens of social service agencies and churches who are on the front line providing for the basic needs of our neighbors. Our support of Open Arms, Don Bosco Center, WestHab, Oasis, Westchester Youth Alliance, Lifting Up Westchester, and others, has become a very efficient way to touch the lives of our neighbors in need.
